Wheel alignment is part of standard automobile maintenance that consists of adjusting the angles of the wheels so that they are set to the car maker’s specifications.

The front end of your automobile includes ball joints, tie rod ends, pitman arms, idler arms, center links, control arms, sway bars and links, bushings and much more. Our mechanics can provide auto repair on any or all of these components as necessary.

Shock absorbers keep your car from bouncing. Struts are a structural part of the suspension system and are mounted to the chassis of the vehicle. The coil spring which maintains the height of the vehicle, is mounted to the strut. Shocks or struts should be changed when you start to feel or notice handling problems. Indicators that there is a problem with your shocks or struts include: bottoming out at dips in the road, bouncing, unusual movement at highway speeds or a change in car movement with extra passengers.

High Speed Tire Balance is one of the truest forms of wheel tire balancing. Big John’s is one of the few shops in the United States that offers this type of balance. A high speed tire balance offers the smoothest possible ride. A high speed tire balance is done with the tire on the car and reaches speeds of 100mph. Rims from stock/OEM to custom can be balanced. We can do *most* makes, models and years.

All tires must be balanced after being mounted, this includes installation of a new tire or remounting the tire after repair. Properly balanced tires are important not only for driving comfort, but, also for long tire life. An unbalanced tire can cause vibration or shimmy, resulting in premature tire wear, unnecessary wear to your vehicle’s suspension components and driver fatigue. This vibration or shimmy may be felt through the steering wheel or throughout the vehicle. As a tire wears the balancing characteristics change. Therefore rebalancing should be done anytime a vibration is felt in order to maintain smooth ride and proper wear.
